Cogent provides On-Net Internet access to more than 1,615 buildings directly connected to our IP backbone. In these buildings, Cogent's optical fiber physically runs through the building.
Cogent provides Off-Net Internet access to more than 165 markets. Off-Net traffic also runs over the Cogent network, but a telco tail circuit connects the customer premise to our IP backbone. Off-Net service allows us to extend our reach exponentially, making Cogent service available to hundreds of thousands of additional businesses.
Cogent's On-Net services can only be compared to the wide open road. We offer pure bandwidth, unhindered by traffic bottlenecks caused by oversubscription. With more capacity than any other IP network in the world, traffic literally races across our network at the speed of light.

Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps). Our flagship product. Price competitive with a T1 Line, but 65 times more bandwidth. This service has fundamentally changed the business and productivity levels of our customers. You can afford more bandwidth than you ever thought possible. And with 100 Mbps guaranteed 100 percent of the time, you can run the applications you want when and how you want them.
Gigabit Ethernet (200 Mbps to 1,000 Mbps). A favorite among our Enterprise customers and the NetCentric crowd. Our GigE connection provides all of the advantages of Fast Ethernet, just multiplied by up to 10! Cogent's GigE service gives you all the bandwidth you need. You can take it all at once, or burst until your business grows.
Fiber500 (500 Kbps). Popular for offices with just a few people, Fiber500 competes with business DSL pricing but far exceeds it in quality and reliability. Why connect over copper when you can have fiber.
Cogent's Off-Net service connects customers via tail circuit to our Tier-1 backbone, guaranteeing the full benefits of our worldwide fiber network. Product Types
Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps). For Ethernet customers in buildings that don't connect directly to Cogent's network, we offer Internet access over Off-Net Fast Ethernet loops. This is by far our most popular product!
GigE (200 to 1,000 Mbps). Even larger Ethernet Enterprise customers outside of Cogent's On-Net footprint can take adavantage of Off-Net GigE services.
T1 (1.5 Mbps). T1 connectivity meets the needs of most small businesses. Cogent differentiates itself by ensuring the service is dedicated to you (not shared) and competitively priced. We include unlimited static IP addresses and proactive monitoring of your line.
T3 (45 Mbps). Popular among our growing and larger customers, T3 service offers 45 Mbps of bottleneck-free connectivity.
OC3 to OC48 (155 Mbps to 2,500 Mbps). For our largest customers, we offer OC services from 155 Mbps (OC3) to 2.5 Gbps (OC48). These services take full advantage of connectivity to our non-oversubscibed backbone, able to support all the traffic our customers can produce.
